SIPS Timber Systems
|
At Glosford we have installed a SIPS production line to produce structural roofs and walls for projects that require exceptional thermal efficiency combined with superior strength, air tightness and fast installation times. A combination of economic excellence for both the builder and the client has to be a winner. SIPS system build is not new but has yet to take off in the UK, however with rising fuel costs and a genuine conviction towards reducing our carbon footprint this building method comes into its own. We chose SIPS at Glosford because as with our other solutions we can take a set of drawings and completely design, manufacture and supply a whole house which is truly an ‘offsite’ method made to measure requiring minimum site work whilst providing peace of mind for the builder. We also fully install the structural envelope using only licensed fully qualified erectors as part of our service. The thermal efficiency of SIPS means that these buildings require minimal heating. A typical 4 bed house can have less than £100 per year in fuel bills. Coupled with an MVHR unit which runs off a domestic electric supply you can quickly improve air quality, reduce cold spots and further reduce heating costs due to its ability to recycle wasted heat from warm rooms such as Kitchen and Bathrooms. All in all these are buildings for the future that help meet all the requirements of the new building regulations, the Code for Sustainable Homes and have building authority approval, BBA certification, LANTAC approval and features continuously on all modern methods of construction programmes aimed at highlighting building methods for the future. |
